EDI Studio parses, validates, and edits X12 EDI files with a structured tree view, smart error grouping, and in-place editing — so you can troubleshoot thousands of segments in minutes, not hours.
| Pos | Element | Name | Value | Req | Status |

| Field 2 | — | Order ID | 9281749312 | M | ✓ Valid |

Traditional tools flood you with individual error lines. One bad N9 loop becomes 1,400 separate entries you have to scroll through.
Files with no line breaks or whitespace are a wall of text. Understanding the hierarchy means memorizing segment positions by hand.
Fixing a value means hand-editing raw EDI, hoping you don't break a delimiter, then re-uploading to validate from scratch.
EDI Studio is built for the people who deal with EDI every day: 3PL ops teams, EDI analysts, supply chain developers, and retail compliance coordinators.
Every file opens into a collapsible hierarchy you can navigate like a folder structure, no matter how the file was formatted.
Hundreds of errors of the same kind collapse into one row with a count. Expand to see details, or skip past them — your call.
Double-click any value to edit it inline. Code fields show a dropdown of valid options. No more typing into a wall of raw text.
Hover any field to see what it means, whether it's required, and what values are allowed. No more cross-referencing PDF specs.
Search the whole file by ID, value, or reference number. Click any result to jump straight to that row in the tree.
Validation for all supported transaction sets, with clear explanations of what's wrong — not just error codes.
Right-click any row to insert or remove. Critical structural rows are protected so you don't break a valid file.
Save your changes back to the original file or export to JSON for downstream use. Formatting is preserved.
EDI Studio ships with full schema support for the nine most common X12 transaction sets used in retail and third-party logistics.
Whether you're debugging a retailer compliance failure at midnight or onboarding a new trading partner, EDI Studio has you covered.
Validate 940/943/944/945 transactions before they cause fulfillment failures. Spot SSCC, lot, and FSMA data issues before they reach the warehouse floor.
Stay compliant with big-box retailer and grocery-chain EDI requirements. Validate 850/856/810 documents and catch compliance errors before chargebacks hit.
Inspect any X12 file without writing a parser. Search for specific values, edit elements, and export clean JSON for downstream processing — all in one tool.
Onboard new trading partners faster by validating their EDI files against your schemas. Clear error explanations make it easy to communicate fixes to partners.

Locked-down work laptop on Windows? Download the portable .zip instead — no admin install, runs from any folder or USB stick.
macOS — double-click the
.dmg, drag EDI Studio onto the Applications alias,
eject the DMG, then launch from Applications. If macOS shows
“Not Opened — Apple could not verify EDIStudio is free of malware,” click
Done (not Move to Trash). Open
System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll to the bottom, click
Open Anyway next to the EDI Studio entry. Re-launch and click Open
on the final confirmation. One-time only.
Windows — download the
EDIStudio-Setup.exe installer and run it. Microsoft Defender SmartScreen will
say “Windows protected your PC — Microsoft Defender SmartScreen prevented an
unrecognized app from starting.” Click More info, then the
Run anyway button that appears. The installer wizard takes over from there
— Next, Install, Finish, optional desktop shortcut, optional launch on completion. The
app lands in C:\Program Files\EDI Studio and shows up in Start Menu + Add/Remove
Programs. One-time prompt only.
Both prompts appear because EDI Studio is distributed directly rather than through the Mac App Store or Microsoft Store. They’re a one-time, expected step for any independent desktop software. Every build is published openly so you can verify file size and date before installing.
